Chairman of Sudan’s Sovereign Transitional Council expresses concern over drone attack on Azerbaijan

Chairman of the Sovereign Transitional Council of the Republic of Sudan Abdel Fattah Al Burhan Abdelrahman Al Burhan has sent a letter to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev regarding the drone attack on Nakhchivan carried out from Iranian territory.

According to The Daily Baku, the letter states:

“We followed with concern the reports about the targeting of Azerbaijan’s territory by unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Iranian territory and the resulting violation of your airspace. This represents a clear breach of the principles of international law and the rules of respect for the sovereignty of states.

On behalf of the leadership, government and people of the Republic of Sudan, we express our full solidarity with the brotherly Republic of Azerbaijan and reaffirm our support for all legitimate steps your country takes to protect its sovereignty, security and stability.

We pray to Almighty God to protect the Republic of Azerbaijan and grant it security and stability.

Please accept the assurances of our highest consideration and respect.”
