Bayramov warns Russia-Ukraine war poses serious threat beyond conflict zone

The Russia-Ukraine conflict poses a serious threat not only to the countries directly involved but also to other nations in the region and the broader international community, Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said.
Speaking at a press conference held as part of the 10th meeting of the foreign ministers of Türkiye, Azerbaijan and Georgia, Bayramov urged Azerbaijani citizens and nationals of other friendly countries to stay away from active conflict zones.
"I would like to appeal to Azerbaijani citizens and the citizens of other brotherly countries to stay away from areas where military conflicts are taking place," the minister said.
Bayramov recalled that four Azerbaijani citizens were killed and another four were injured during a drone attack on two vessels in the Sea of Azov three days ago. He noted that as long as the war continues, it is impossible to completely eliminate such risks.
The minister stressed that it is extremely difficult to contain the consequences of military conflicts within a specific geographical area.
According to Bayramov, Azerbaijan has consistently emphasized the importance of ending wars, achieving ceasefires and resolving disputes through diplomatic and political means.
He also underlined the need for the international community to intensify efforts aimed at the peaceful settlement of conflicts.
"It is difficult to confine a war to a particular geography or to predict its consequences. As the State of Azerbaijan, we continue to stress the importance of stopping the war, finding a diplomatic and political solution, achieving a ceasefire at the initial stage and then taking further steps toward lasting peace," Bayramov said.
