The Azerbaijan Space Agency, Azercosmos, has joined the international DIFI (Digital Intermediate Frequency Interoperability) Consortium.
The DIFI Consortium is an international organization operating in the satellite communications industry to enhance interoperability between various systems and platforms, promote the digitalization of satellite control centers, develop open standards, and support next generation satellite communication solutions. The consortium includes leading satellite operators, technology companies, and industry participants from around the world.
The new membership is expected to further strengthen Azercosmos’ efforts to promote innovative and sustainable digital infrastructure. The move also supports the country’s strategic initiatives aimed at digital transformation and technological development.
Azercosmos’ membership in the consortium will provide the agency with opportunities to participate in technical working groups, contribute to the development of industry standards, and expand international cooperation within the global satellite communications ecosystem.
The membership is also considered important in terms of creating new commercial opportunities, gaining access to professional training, and implementing software solutions and regulatory approaches that meet international standards in the field.
Azercosmos is also an active member of the World Teleport Association (WTA), the Islamic Network on Space Sciences and Technology (ISNET), the Global Satellite Operators Association (GSOA), the International Astronautical Federation (IAF), and other international organizations.
