Azerbaijani student admitted to world’s second-ranked university

An Azerbaijani student has achieved a major academic success by gaining admission to one of the world’s most prestigious higher education institutions.
Nubar Jabrayil, who studies International Relations at ADA University, has been admitted to Imperial College London, ranked as the world’s second-best university according to the QS World University Rankings.
She has received an offer to study Environmental Economics and Policy under the Environmental Technology programme. The programme is delivered within the Imperial College London Faculty of Natural Sciences and offered by the Grantham Institute – Climate Change and the Environment, which has long been a leading centre for environmental research in the United Kingdom.
A graduate of the Baku Oxford School, Nubar Jabrayil is currently completing her studies at ADA University with honours. During her academic career, she has undertaken internships at several institutions, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, and has also worked within the university.
She has also studied political science in France, and her research was presented in 2025 at University College London during the XI ICCEES World Congress.
Fluent in five foreign languages, she achieved an IELTS score of 8.5 out of 9.
She plans to pursue a career in environmental economics and policy and aims to conduct research in this field in Azerbaijan in the future.
