Azerbaijani MP: Karabakh and East Zangezur remain the state's main priority

Mr. President Ilham Aliyev’s recent visit to the Agdere and Tartar regions once again confirms that the restoration and reconstruction processes in the liberated territories are under the direct control of the head of state.
The Daily Baku reports that this was stated by the deputy of the Milli Majlis, Tural Ganjaliyev.
According to him, the President’s regular visits to Karabakh and East Zangezur, his personal acquaintance with the restoration and construction works, and his participation in the inauguration of important strategic infrastructure projects show that the reconstruction of these regions is at the center of state policy.” All processes carried out in Karabakh and East Zangezur are carried out under the direct instructions and control of the head of state.
Tural Ganjaliyev said that the commissioning of the “Gozlukörpu” hydroelectric power station clearly demonstrates that the strategic needs of Karabakh and East Zangezur - gas, electricity, water supply and the infrastructure that forms the basis for the return of the population - are being restored as a priority.
According to him, this approach is one of the main factors ensuring the safe and sustainable return of people to their native lands.
The deputy noted that to date, more than 25 billion manats have been allocated for the restoration of Karabakh and East Zangezur. This is a clear indicator of Azerbaijan’s economic strength and the special attention the state pays to these territories. The restoration of completely destroyed territories that have emerged from the war in a short period of time is a rare example both regionally and globally.
“At a time when wars and destruction continue in different parts of the world, Azerbaijan is setting an example for the international community with its constructive policy in Karabakh and East Zangezur. The scenery that foreign guests see during their visits to these areas is truly amazing. I have personally observed this many times,” the deputy emphasized.
Tural Ganjaliyev added that the process of integrating Karabakh and East Zangezur into the country’s overall economic and energy system is nearing completion. The liberation of these regions makes a significant contribution to the increase in Azerbaijan’s water and energy resources, and the expansion of transport and communication lines.
“The fact that the TRIPP route, which is one of the main components of the Middle Corridor, passes precisely through the territories liberated from occupation, the commissioning of new airports and the construction of railway lines further increases the strategic importance of this region on the international transport and communication map.”
The deputy said that all these implemented projects confirm that Karabakh and East Zangezur play an important role not only in the development of Azerbaijan, but also in the region as a whole, and turn these territories into one of the international geostrategic centers.
