Azerbaijan studies Czech experience in integrating public transport into a unified system

An Azerbaijani delegation has visited the Czech Republic for training purposes to study intelligent approaches in urban mobility and public transport organization.
This was announced by Helena Hronik, Sales Manager at Škoda Group, on her social media account.
The visit program includes a trip to ROPID, considered one of Europe’s most advanced coordinators of integrated transport services. There, the Azerbaijani delegation will be presented with a model in which metro, tram, bus, and rail operate as a single system through synchronized schedules and a unified tariff structure.
According to Hronik, Prague’s transport system is of particular interest due to the high level of integration among different modes of transport. This not only improves passenger convenience but also significantly reduces the burden on urban infrastructure.
Special attention will be paid to digital solutions. The delegation will hold talks with Operator ICT, the developer of the Lítačka platform, one of Central Europe’s most comprehensive digital fare payment systems.
During the meeting, the parties will discuss the implementation of electronic ticketing systems, as well as the use of big data technologies for monitoring passenger flows, forecasting demand, and strategic urban mobility planning.
“We highly value the opportunity to share Czech experience and expertise in modern mobility, and we hope this visit will contribute to deepening cooperation between the Czech Republic and Azerbaijan,” Hronik noted.
The training mission was organized with the support of the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Transport, the CzechTrade agency, and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Baku.
