Azerbaijan has increased its spending on milk and cream imports by 61%

In January–March of this year, Azerbaijan imported 5,858 tons of milk and cream.
According to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, the value of these imports amounted to 10 million 386 thousand US dollars.
Compared to the same period last year, imports increased by 1,531 tons (35%) in volume and by 3 million 945 thousand dollars (61%) in value.
During the reporting period, spending on milk and cream imports accounted for 0.2% of Azerbaijan’s total import expenditures.
Over the three-month period, Azerbaijan conducted foreign trade operations worth 9 billion 407 million US dollars. This represents a 21.9% decrease compared to the same period last year.
Out of the total foreign trade turnover, 5 billion 402 million US dollars accounted for exports, while 4 billion 5 million US dollars accounted for imports. Over the past year, exports decreased by 15.4%, and imports fell by 29.3%.
As a result, a positive trade balance of 1 billion 398 million US dollars was recorded, which is 93.4% higher compared to the previous year.
