Azerbaijan changes child's right to citizenship and name

Azerbaijan is changing the citizenship and right to a name for a child.
"The Daily Baku" reports that this issue is reflected in the newly prepared draft law "On the Rights of the Child".
According to the draft, which was discussed at today's meeting of the Committee on Family, Women and Children's Affairs of the Milli Majlis, after the birth of each child, his birth is registered in accordance with the Family Code and he acquires citizenship, except for the cases provided for in the first and second parts of Article 12 of the Law "On Citizenship of the Republic of Azerbaijan" (a child born in Azerbaijan and both parents of whom are foreigners, including a child whose one parent is a foreigner and the other is a stateless person, is not considered a citizen of Azerbaijan).
The document emphasizes that the child will be given a name in accordance with the Family Code.
The draft law also notes that this will prevent the abduction, trafficking and illegal movement of children (including return to the country of permanent residence), regardless of state goals, forms and methods.
It should be noted that, according to the current law of the same name, a child is given a name with the mutual consent of his parents, and in the absence of parents, with the consent or instruction of the guardianship authorities.
