Azerbaijan approves new rules regulating remote work arrangements

Additional terms of employment related to the performance of job functions in a remote (distance) work format will be determined by an employment contract based on mutual agreement between the parties, The Daily Baku reports.

This is reflected in the amendments to the Labor Code, for which President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree.

Under the draft law, remote (distance) work is defined as the performance of job functions outside the employer’s premises or designated workplaces—at another location suitable for carrying out work or providing services—using tools that enable remote work, including electronic, software, technical and telecommunications means.
