Azerbaijan and Kenya discuss cooperation in the judicial and legal sphere

A delegation led by Chief Justice of Kenya Martha Koome, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, held a meeting at the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan.
According to the Supreme Court, Chief Justice of Azerbaijan Inam Karimov noted that friendly relations between the two countries have been developing successfully in various fields and emphasized the mutual interest in expanding cooperation in the judicial and legal sphere.
The Kenyan delegation was provided with detailed information on judicial and legal reforms being implemented in Azerbaijan, efforts to ensure the uniformity of judicial practice, as well as measures aimed at modernizing and digitalizing the court system.
Chief Justice of Kenya Martha Koome thanked the Azerbaijani side for the warm reception and highly praised the reforms carried out in Azerbaijan’s judicial system. She expressed particular interest in studying Azerbaijan’s experience in digitalization, the Electronic Court information system, and modern approaches to court administration.
At the conclusion of the meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kenya. The memorandum aims to promote the exchange of judicial experience, enhance the professional knowledge and skills of judges and court personnel, and further strengthen bilateral relations between the two courts.
Azerbaijan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Kenya, Sultan Hajiyev, also attended the meeting.
