Azerbaijan and Bahrain foreign ministries: Tensions in the region could lead to undesirable consequences

A telephone conversation took place between Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, and his Bahraini counterpart, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and reported by The Daily Baku, the sides exchanged views on the recent military escalation in the Middle East, the growing tensions in the security environment, and their possible consequences.
The ministers expressed serious concern over the rapidly changing situation in the region and stressed that any further escalation could lead to undesirable consequences for regional stability and security.
During the conversation, it was noted that de-escalation measures are of an urgent nature. The importance of keeping diplomatic channels open and promoting dialogue and negotiations was emphasized.
At the same time, the necessity of adhering to the norms and principles of international humanitarian law, as well as ensuring the protection of civilians and infrastructure, was highlighted.
The sides also exchanged views on other regional and international issues of mutual interest during the call.
