Araghchi informed Lavrov about Iran’s possible response measures

A telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Abbas Araghchi, and the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov.

According to "The Daily Baku", citing the Russian Foreign Ministry, the call was initiated by the Iranian side.

During the conversation, the Iranian minister informed his Russian counterpart about the measures taken by the country’s leadership in response to the strikes carried out by the United States and Israel. He also stated his intention to urgently convene a meeting of the United Nations Security Council.

Lavrov condemned the attacks by the United States and Israel against Iran, emphasizing that they contradict the principles and norms of international law and fail to take into account the serious consequences for regional and global stability and security.

He noted that Russia is ready, including within the framework of the UN Security Council, to assist in seeking a peaceful solution based on international law, mutual respect, and a balance of interests.
