Applications open for agricultural land use in Khanabad and Tazabina

Starting tomorrow, applications will be accepted for the use of agricultural land for cultivation purposes in the villages of Khanabad and Tazabina in Khojaly District.

According to "The Daily Baku", citing the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan, the application process will be conducted through the Electronic Agriculture Information System (EKTIS) via the eagro.az portal and will continue until the end of May 28.

The allocation of agricultural land in Khanabad and Tazabina for cultivation purposes will be carried out in accordance with Clause 4.1 of the Presidential decree dated November 27, 2024, and the rules approved by the Cabinet of Ministers’ decision dated December 26, 2024, regarding the preferential lease of agricultural land in territories liberated from occupation to residents of villages and settlements.

The land plots, with a minimum size of 5 hectares, are irrigated areas located around the villages and have been prepared for cultivation. A wide range of annual and perennial crops is planned for planting, including peaches, nectarines, apricots, pomegranates, apples, chestnuts, persimmons, pears, cherries, walnuts, hazelnuts, grapes (table and technical), strawberries, currants, blueberries (in pots), raspberries, tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, peppers, onions, beans, beetroot, carrots, cabbage, watermelon, melon, wheat, barley, corn (for grain and silage), soybeans, chickpeas, lentils, potatoes, tobacco, sugar beet, alfalfa, sainfoin, and mixed grasses such as vetch, oats, barley, and rye.

Modern drip and sprinkler irrigation systems are required for the cultivated areas.

Residents relocating to Khanabad and Tazabina can apply for preferential land use for cultivation by following these steps:

– Register in EKTIS (automatically obtaining access to a farmer’s electronic account)
– In the electronic account, go to the "My Applications" section and select "apply for land lease" – then choose "Khanabad" or "Tazabina" and complete the application form
– Indicate in the "e-Police" application of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan that the actual place of residence is in Khanabad or Tazabina, regardless of official registration address

Contract signing with applicants, training sessions, and on-site familiarization with the areas will take place between June 1 and July 31. Lease agreements will be set for 2 years for annual crops and alfalfa, and 5 years for perennial crops, with the possibility of extension based on usage outcomes.
