Access of women to education and their public engagement are among the key indicators of a society’s development. This initiative is not only social in nature, but also an important component of a long-term awareness-raising strategy, Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children’s Affairs Bahar Muradova said while speaking at an event held within the framework of the “Support for the Education of Young Girls” project, The Daily Baku reports.

According to her, expanding access to education for women, especially young girls, plays an important role in the sustainable development of society. “Sometimes it is thought that certain social problems are already a thing of the past. However, reality shows that these issues remain relevant today and require continuous attention. Engaging girls living in the regions and in socially vulnerable situations in education, and supporting their personal development, is of particular importance,” Bahar Muradova emphasized.

The Committee Chairperson noted that the activities carried out within the framework of the project, particularly cooperation with Baku State University, make an important contribution to this process. “The number of young girls studying here today and the development of their knowledge and skills show that a properly established partnership produces real results. The university environment plays a significant role in shaping their worldview and integrating them into society,” she added.

She also stressed that the active participation of women in public life, especially the sacrifices they have demonstrated during difficult periods, has historically been one of the characteristic features of Azerbaijani society. “Today as well, our women bear responsibility in various fields and contribute to the development of the country. It is important to preserve and sustain this tradition and pass it on to future generations,” Bahar Muradova added.

In conclusion, the Committee Chairperson stated that such projects are of great importance in revealing the potential of women and strengthening their knowledge and skills, and that activities in this direction will continue consistently in the future.
