Azerbaijani parliament observes a minute of silence in memory of Khojaly genocide victims

Lawmakers in the Milli Majlis have observed a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the Khojaly genocide.
According to The Daily Baku, the Speaker of Parliament, Sahiba Gafarova, paid tribute to those who lost their lives, wishing mercy to all the martyrs. She said that, under the leadership of the President of Azerbaijan and following the victory of the Azerbaijani army, ethnic cleansing against the Azerbaijani people had come to an end.
Ms Gafarova also stated that the revenge for the victims of Khojaly had been taken on the battlefield.
“Currently, construction work is being carried out in Khojaly,” she added.
The Speaker then proposed that the memory of the victims be honoured with a minute of silence.
Members of parliament stood in silence to commemorate those killed in the tragedy.
