A magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck off the coast of Japan

A magnitude 5.6 earthquake was recorded off the coast of Hokkaido, The Daily Baku reports, citing the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center.
According to the center, the epicenter was located 111 kilometers northeast of the city of Hachinohe (northern Aomori Prefecture), home to approximately 239,000 people. The epicenter was located at a depth of 62 kilometers.
There were no reports of casualties or damage, and no tsunami threat was issued.
