A $2-billion investment mechanism from Azerbaijan to Pakistan has been discussed

Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov has held a telephone conversation with Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar to discuss a proposed $2bn investment mechanism for Pakistan, officials in Islamabad say, The Daily Baku reports.


In a statement, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said the two sides exchanged views on how to move forward with the planned Azerbaijani investment package.

Both ministers were reported to have expressed satisfaction with the current state of bilateral relations and agreed on the need to deepen political and economic cooperation further.

They also discussed finalising the framework for Azerbaijani investment in sectors of mutual interest in Pakistan, the statement added.
