Cristofoli: Azerbaijan to remain regional energy hub for decades

Azerbaijan will continue to maintain its status as the region's energy hub for decades to come, said Gio Cristofoli, BP's Regional President for Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye.
Speaking at the opening of the 20th Baku Summer Energy School, organized by ADA University's Institute for Development and Diplomacy, Cristofoli emphasized that the country possesses all the necessary advantages.
"I am confident that we will celebrate the 30th, 40th, and 50th anniversaries of this program together. Azerbaijan and the region will remain an energy hub in the coming decades thanks to its rich hydrocarbon reserves, developed infrastructure – pipelines, terminals, and platforms – successful cooperation experience, professional human resources, and a favorable environment for business and innovation," he noted.
The official further stated that BP is proud of its 30‑year partnership with Azerbaijan, stressing that cooperation should not be limited to oil and gas projects: "We will continue working with SOCAR and our partners on developing the country's energy resources. But that is not enough. We also have a moral obligation to support the development of Azerbaijan's human capital, education, culture, and social programs. We will keep supporting ADA University in the years ahead."
